ATLANTA- Delta Air Lines (DL) is gearing up for exciting network changes this Winter, focusing on more Latin/Caribbean flying as the new hot trend.
As the South Pacific fades in popularity, Delta strategically adjusts to meet travelers’ evolving needs and preferences, reported Enilria.
Delta New Winter Flights
New/Resumed Routes:
- Boston Logan (BOS) – Liberia (LIR): Starting in January 2025 on Saturdays
- Detroit (DTW) – Providenciales Island (PLS): Launching in mid-December on Saturdays
- New York JFK – Basseterre (SKB): Resumed service starting in January 2025 on Saturdays

Suspensions:
- Los Angeles (LOS) – Auckland (AKL): This route has been temporarily suspended for the Southern Hemisphere Winter due to low bookings.
Notable Frequency Increases:
- San Juan (SJU) – Detroit (DTW): Doubling to 14 flights per week
- San Juan (SJU) – Boston (BOS): Doubling to 14 flights per week
- San Juan (SJU) – Atlanta (ATL): Increasing from 35 flights per week to 42 flights per week
It seems like San Juan is experiencing a surge in demand, while Auckland Airport’s suspension is no surprise. Watch for Brisbane Airport (BNE) as a potential upcoming destination.
In May and August 2024, there were an average of 4 flights per week, with 628 seats in May and 667 seats in August. The flight details for May include B6 320 on 3 flights per week.
With new routes, resumed services, and frequency increases, Atlanta-based Delta is positioning itself as a top choice for winter getaways.
