Turkish Airlines Announces New Flights to Santiago, Chile

ISTANBUL- Turkish Airlines (TK) expands its global network by launching flights to Santiago (SCL), Chile, marking its 10th country served in the Americas.

The new route, set to commence on December 18, 2024, will operate from Istanbul (IST) to Santiago four times weekly, with a stopover in Sao Paulo in both directions.

Turkish Airlines Santiago Flights

This addition brings Turkish Airlines’ total destinations in the Americas to 26, reinforcing its growing regional presence. The airline now offers passengers seamless access to Santiago, a city known for its rich history, cultural attractions, and stunning Andean backdrop.

The new route strengthens ties between Turkey and Chile while providing travelers worldwide with convenient connections to South America via a single stopover in Istanbul.

Passengers can book flights through various channels, including the airline’s website, mobile app, sales offices, and authorized agencies.

Turkish Airlines’ expansion into Chile aligns with its strategy to enhance global connectivity and tap into new markets. The airline capitalizes on Santiago’s appeal as a major South American destination, allowing travelers to explore Chile’s diverse landscapes and vibrant culture.

The Istanbul-Sao Paulo-Santiago route leverages Turkish Airlines’ existing network, optimizing aircraft utilization and expanding its reach in South America.

Executive Remarks

Chairman Ahmet Bolat emphasizes the airline’s commitment to global connectivity and cultural bridging. The new route reaffirms Turkish Airlines’ position as the carrier serving most countries worldwide.

Nicolas Claude, CEO of SCL Nuevo Pudahuel Airport, welcomes Turkish Airlines’ entry to Santiago. He highlights the route’s potential to enhance air connectivity between Chile and Turkey, facilitating easier access to Istanbul and the Far East for Chileans. Claude anticipates strengthened economic and touristic ties between the two countries.

The Santiago service will operate four times weekly from Istanbul, with a stopover in Sao Paulo. Flights commence on December 18, 2024, and bookings are now open through various channels.

Turkish Airlines offers complementary services to enhance passenger experiences. The “Stopover Istanbul” program provides a free hotel stay for layovers of 20 hours or more. The “TourIstanbul” initiative offers free guided tours of Istanbul’s landmarks during layovers between six and 24 hours.
