Lavinia Lau, Cathay Group’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, emphasized the airline’s role in connecting Hong Kong to the world.

She highlighted Cathay Pacific’s unique position as a Hong Kong-based carrier with Chinese roots, committed to establishing the city as a leading international aviation hub.

DFW’s status as one of the world’s busiest airports offers significant advantages. Through codeshare agreements and other flight options, passengers can access over 190 U.S. domestic destinations and 11 locations in Central and South America via DFW.

This expansion aligns with Hong Kong’s efforts to improve connectivity with North America and key Belt and Road Initiative participating countries.

Cathay Pacific currently operates 88 weekly return passenger flights to North American destinations, including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, and Vancouver.

The new Hong Kong-DFW route will feature four weekly return flights using the airline’s state-of-the-art Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.

More Flights to North America

Cathay Pacific has announced a significant expansion of its North American passenger services for 2025, offering increased flight options to travelers. By May, the airline will operate 108 weekly return flights across the continent, including the newly launched Dallas route.

The expanded schedule features thrice-daily return flights to New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Boston and Chicago will each receive daily return flights. Canadian services will also see growth, with Vancouver receiving two daily return flights and Toronto accommodating 13 weekly return flights.

Cathay Pacific’s new passenger service to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) will complement Cathay Cargo’s existing freighter operations to the city via Anchorage.

Responding to increased air cargo demand during peak season, Cathay Cargo has added five additional weekly return freighter flights to North America this month. The cargo division now operates up to 37 weekly return freighter flights to North America.

The airline’s commitment to North America dates back to 1983 when it launched its first non-stop service to Vancouver. This long-standing presence underscores the continent’s enduring importance to Cathay Pacific’s global network strategy.
