Air Canada Venice-Montreal Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Dublin

DUBLIN- Yesterday (May 9, 2024), an Air Canada (AC) flight, AC819, was compelled to execute an emergency landing at Dublin Airport (DUB), resulting in the closure of the airport to a single runway.

The flight, originating from Venice (VCE) and bound for Montreal (YUL), had to land due to a hydraulics issue affecting steering, as Shaun Dunne of Shaun’s Aviation on X reported.

Air Canada Emergency Landing at Dublin

The aircraft touched down around 6:50 pm yesterday and was greeted by fire crews in Dublin, who conducted an inspection of the plane.

The hydraulic problem led to the loss of nose steering, rendering the aircraft immobile on the runway and necessitating a tow to a stand.

Videos and images circulated on social media depicted fire crews awaiting the plane’s arrival at Dublin Airport and the subsequent towing of the aircraft away from the runway.

Additionally, the issue resulted in a leak on one of Dublin Airport’s runways, preventing its reopening to other flights.
