Named After Ratan Tata

The A320neo, registered VT-RTN, is Air India’s 47th, bringing the total fleet to 143 aircraft. The registration honors 86-year-old former Tata Group and Tata Sons Chairman Ratan Tata. CFM International LEAP-1A engines power the aircraft.

The A320neo reduces fuel burn and CO2 emissions by 20% and noise by 50% compared to previous models. Air India deploys this aircraft domestically, demonstrating a commitment to improving service on both domestic and international routes.

Air India’s new Boeing 777s and Airbus A350-900s will serve key routes to the United States, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. The A320neo will expand to cover more Indian routes.

This fleet modernization reflects Air India’s strategy to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency across its network. The airline aims to provide consistent, high-quality service on all routes, regardless of distance or destination.
