Air India Announces New Flight from Delhi to Zurich, Switzerland

GURUGRAM- Tata-owned Air India (AI), a premier global airline based in India, is set to inaugurate a direct route between Delhi (DEL) and Zurich (ZRH), Switzerland commencing on June 16, 2024.

This milestone marks Air India’s debut in Switzerland and expands its reach to seven cities across mainland Europe.

Air India Delhi to Zurich Flight

Operating its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft with a two-class configuration, Air India will fly on this new European route four days a week, specifically on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

This new service by Air India will offer travelers in Switzerland, southern Germany, and western Austria a convenient non-stop option to travel to Delhi and connect to various destinations within Air India’s expanding route network, particularly in the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and Australia.

Under flight number AI151, the Delhi to Zurich route will depart at 14:05hrs, arriving in Zurich at 19:15hrs. Conversely, flight AI152 will depart Zurich at 20:50hrs and arrive in Delhi at 08:05hrs the following day.

This schedule allows passengers seamless connections to Air India’s flights from Delhi to popular destinations like Bangkok, Colombo, Dhaka, Ho Chi Minh City, Kathmandu, Melbourne, Phuket, Singapore, Sydney, and many more.

CEO Remarks

Campbell Wilson, the Chief Executive Officer of Air India, expressed that the introduction of this new route reinforces the strong ties between India and Switzerland, two significant trading partners with a dynamic exchange of people.

With over 250 Swiss companies operating in India, hundreds of Indian companies in Switzerland, and an expanding Indian diaspora of nearly 18,000, these flights will meet the robust demand for travel, both for business and leisure purposes, in both directions.

He further emphasized that Switzerland, consistently ranked as one of the top European destinations for Indian tourists, will become even more accessible with the addition of these flights, contributing to the deepening economic and cultural bonds between the two nations.

Flight Schedule

Travelers can anticipate a high level of comfort and hospitality when flying with Air India, including the warmth of Indian hospitality from the cabin crew, a selection of international and authentic Indian cuisine onboard, and complimentary beverages.

Currently, Air India operates a total of 60 weekly flights to and from six cities in mainland Europe, namely Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Milan, Paris, and Vienna.
