Air Premia Begins New Flights from Seoul to San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO- Air Premia (YP) has commenced operations for flights between San Francisco (SFO) and Seoul Incheon (ICN), expanding its connectivity between the Americas and Korea with four weekly flights.

This new route is Air Premia’s third direct link between the continental United States and Korea, following the successful launches in Los Angeles (LAX) and New York (JFK).

Strong Demand and Network

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s aviation information portal, Air Premia transported over 671,500 passengers last year, with over 229,300 on the Los Angeles and New York routes alone. This accounts for 11.6% of the total passengers carried by national carriers, providing new travel options across the Americas.

Additionally, Air Premia has increased its Los Angeles flights to a daily schedule and introduced occasional flights to Honolulu (HNL), further expanding its network in the Americas. This increase in flights is expected to significantly boost cargo operations, particularly with the use of belly cargo.

Nearly 60% of last year’s cargo revenue came from operations in the Americas, and the new San Francisco route is anticipated to further enhance these figures.

To improve convenience for travelers to the Americas, Air Premia has joined the TSA Pre-Check program as the third national carrier, streamlining airport security procedures. Furthermore, the introduction of online check-in systems at American airports is set to enhance boarding processes.

“The Americas are Air Premia’s most important strategic route,” said CEO Yoo Myung-sub. “We plan to offer more routes and flights, providing more diverse options for Korean immigrants and local travelers heading to Korea.”
