American Airlines 777-300ER to Charlotte

Ishrion Aviation reported that the 777-300ER will operate one of American Airline’s three daily flights between Charlotte and London Heathrow (LHR).

  • Flight AA730 will depart CLT at 6:10 PM, arriving in LHR at 7:00 AM the next day.
  • The return flight, AA735, will leave LHR at 10:05 AM, touching down in CLT at 2:25 PM.

Further, this upgrade represents a substantial increase in premium seating capacity on the route. The 777-300ER boasts 8 Flagship First Class seats, 52 Business Class seats, and 28 Premium Economy seats.

In comparison, the 777-200ER, which will continue to operate the other two daily flights, offers only 37 Business Class and 24 Premium Economy seats.

First Ever Deployment

Traditionally, American Airlines has reserved its 777-300ER for major hubs like Dallas (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK), and Miami (MIA). While the aircraft has made appearances in Charlotte for last-minute equipment changes, this will be its first scheduled, long-term deployment to CLT.

The introduction of the 777-300ER to Charlotte reflects American Airlines’ confidence in the market’s demand for premium travel options.

It also signifies the growing importance of Charlotte as a key hub in American’s network, capable of supporting the airline’s largest and most luxurious aircraft.

As of now, American plans to maintain this upgraded service until March 29, 2025. However, the airline notes that this schedule is subject to change, leaving room for potential extensions or adjustments based on market performance and operational needs.
