LONDON- British Airways (BA) will resume flights from London Heathrow (LHR) to Tbilisi (TBS), Georgia on March 30, 2025. The airline will operate four weekly flights, connecting the two capital cities after a 12-year hiatus.
The service will enhance connectivity for UK travelers, allowing seamless connections from eight regional airports to Tbilisi via Heathrow. Passengers from Edinburgh, Belfast, Manchester, and Newcastle can book single-ticket journeys to the Georgian capital.

Georgia, situated at the intersection of Europe and Asia, boasts a rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and diverse landscapes. The country’s 8,000-year-old winemaking tradition remains a significant aspect of its culture, attracting wine enthusiasts from around the world.

Passengers can easily transfer to other services from Heathrow, particularly to New York and European destinations not directly served by Georgia, such as Madrid and Barcelona.

easyJet Tbilisi Georgia Flights
easyJet (U2) expands its network by launching its first-ever flights to Georgia, connecting London Luton to Tbilisi. The new route, set to commence on April 1, 2025, will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer season.
The airline simultaneously introduces routes to Tbilisi from Geneva and Milan Malpensa, broadening its European connectivity to the Georgian capital. This expansion marks easyJet’s entry into the Georgian market, offering travelers new opportunities to explore the country.
Tbilisi, known for its affordability and rich cultural heritage, presents an attractive destination for city breaks. Visitors can explore the Old Town’s picturesque streets, experience historic sulphur baths, engage with a vibrant arts scene, and indulge in traditional Georgian cuisine and acclaimed wines.
easyJet has opened bookings for the new routes through its website and mobile app, allowing customers to secure their seats immediately.
To support the expanded service from London Luton, easyJet has added another Airbus A320 to its base, bringing the total fleet at Luton to 25 A320 family aircraft. This addition enhances the airline’s capacity and operational flexibility at the airport.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, emphasized the significance of the new route, highlighting it as the first direct connection between the UK and Tbilisi offered by the airline. Gayward stressed easyJet’s commitment to strengthening its network and providing value to customers through competitive fares and quality service.
The expansion builds on easyJet’s strong presence at London Luton, where it currently serves over seven million passengers annually across 74 destinations. Since its inaugural flight from Luton to Edinburgh nearly three decades ago, easyJet has transported more than 124 million passengers from the airport.
Market Analysis
These new routes represent a revival of direct UK-Georgia air links. Before the pandemic, Georgian Airways operated flights from London Gatwick to Tbilisi, and Wizz Air (W9) connected London Luton to Kutaisi International Airport.
According to AIR SERVICE ONE’s analysis of Cirium schedules data, air travel between the European Economic Area (EEA) and Georgia has seen substantial growth.
In August 2024, seat capacity is projected to be 49% higher than in August 2019. The data reveals that 15 EEA countries now offer non-stop flights to Georgia, with Germany, Poland, Greece, France, and Cyprus being the top five markets.
Wizz Air has emerged as the dominant carrier on EEA-Georgia routes, accounting for over half of all seat capacity. Other airlines serving Georgia include Georgian Airways, Lufthansa, Aegean Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, airBaltic, Austrian Airlines, Eurowings, Transavia, and Air France.
