British Airways Newark Flight is Now Managed by dnata

NEW YORK- dnata expands its partnership with British Airways (BA) at Newark International Airport (EWR), United States (US). The global air services provider will supply inflight catering for the airline’s twice-daily flights to London Heathrow.

This agreement adds Newark to dnata’s existing service locations for British Airways in Boston (BOS), Dallas (DFW), Houston (IAH), and Nashville (BNA).

British Airways dnata Partnership

Under the new contract, dnata will produce and deliver 150,000 meals annually for British Airways’ Newark-London route. This expansion strengthens the long-standing relationship between the two companies across five U.S. cities.

Peter DeVito, CEO of dnata Catering North America, expressed enthusiasm for the extended partnership. He emphasized dnata’s commitment to delivering exceptional culinary experiences and continuous investment in team, infrastructure, and product improvement.

dnata’s catering division serves 40 airlines at 12 U.S. airports with over 1,000 hospitality professionals. In the 2023-24 fiscal year, the company provided more than 9.8 million meals in the United States, marking a 9% growth from the previous year.

Globally, dnata’s catering and retail division employs 10,500 professionals. They produce over 110 million meals annually, catering to various airlines from more than 60 locations worldwide.

This new agreement showcases dnata’s expanding presence in the U.S. aviation market and its ability to meet the high standards required by major international carriers. The company’s growth in meal production reflects the ongoing recovery and expansion of the airline industry post-pandemic.

Strengthening Presence in the US

Recently, dnata has been awarded contracts with ITA Airways (AZ), Azul Airlines (AD), and Lufthansa (LH) at different U.S. airports.

At Los Angeles International (LAX) and San Francisco International (SFO) airports, dnata will provide inflight catering services to ITA Airways. The company will produce and deliver over 200,000 meals annually for the Italian carrier’s daily flights to Rome (FCO) from both airports.

In Orlando International Airport (MCO), dnata has secured a multi-year contract with Azul Airlines. The company will provide ramp services for the Brazilian carrier’s twice-daily flights between Orlando and Recife (REC).

dnata’s team will handle 175,000 passengers on more than 600 annual flights. This agreement brings dnata’s Orlando operations to three airlines, with 150 staff managing over 12,000 flights yearly.

dnata has also launched operations at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), investing $2 million and creating 25 new local jobs. Lufthansa, the inaugural customer at RDU, operates five weekly flights to Frankfurt (FRA) using an Airbus A330-300.

These expansions bring dnata’s U.S. presence to 28 airports, showcasing the company’s commitment to growth in the American market.

The diverse range of services provided by dnata, including catering and ground handling, demonstrates its versatility in meeting airline needs across different airports and operations.
