Stuttgart’s Police reported that the 93 passengers and 6 crew members onboard needed to be evacuated after the smoke alert was activated. The alert was caused by a technical defect in the hydraulic system of a cargo door.

Five ground workers were injured by contact with the hydraulic oil, with four requiring hospital transport, reported Aviation Herald.

Emergency services, including 33 vehicles from Fire Brigades and Ambulances and 2 police patrol cars, were dispatched to the scene.

The flight was canceled, and passengers were rebooked for the next day. The aircraft remained grounded in Stuttgart.
