Delta Employees Caught on Camera Throwing Golf Team Baggages

ATLANTA- The East Tennessee State Men’s Golf Team shared a video showing how their golf clubs, checked in with Delta Air Lines (DL), were handled en route to the NCAA Championships.

The video went viral, and so far it has garnered 4.2 million views and revealed how contractors tossed the clubs onto the tarmac before haphazardly loading them onto a baggage cart. Instead of carrying the bags, the ground forcefully became an unnecessary intermediary stop.

Delta Employees Throwing Baggage

This is a physically demanding job, but standards must be upheld. Typically, workers are only held accountable when they are caught on camera. Airlines should improve supervision of the baggage handling process.

It’s not entirely fair to single out Delta, as similar issues can be found across all the airlines in the world. But this level of care isn’t what you’d find in Japan, says ViewfromtheWing.

For example, here’s a frustrated American Airlines (AA) passenger observing a baggage handler playing ‘bowling with luggage’ on the ramp.

Once you relinquish control of your bags at the check-in counter, various things can happen to them. For instance, a baggage handler might steal a birthday present from your luggage.

At British Airways (BA), a memo had to be issued reminding staff not to urinate in the cargo holds of their planes.

Even if your bag reaches its destination, it might not be promptly retrieved from the chute. Alternatively, it could arrive at baggage claim to find a geyser of water spraying from the floor near the carousel.

Alaska Airlines (AS) and Delta offer a 20-minute bag guarantee, but they only compensate you with miles if your bag is late, not if it’s damaged.
