Delta to Restart New York to Tel Aviv, Israel Flights

NEW YORK- Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines (DL) will resume daily nonstop service to Tel Aviv (TLV) from New York (JFK) this summer, using an Airbus A330-900neo to provide nearly 2,000 weekly seats from New York to Israel.

The route, temporarily suspended in October 2023, will restart on June 7, 2024, following a thorough security risk assessment by the airline.

Delta Resume New York to Tel Aviv

Delta continues to monitor the situation in Israel closely, working with government and private-sector partners.

US carrier has recently expanded its presence in Israel through a codeshare agreement with EL AL Israel Airlines, allowing Delta customers access to EL AL’s direct flights to Tel Aviv from major U.S. cities such as New York-JFK, New York-Newark, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale.

With Delta’s New York-JFK service resuming this summer, customers will have more travel options connecting North America and Israel.

Earlier today, the Delta partner airline Virgin Atlantic announced the resumption of Israel flights from London and codeshare with El Al Israel Airlines.

Virgin Restarts Israel Flight

Starting September 5, the airline will operate a daily flight in each direction between Heathrow and Tel Aviv (TLV) using Airbus A330 aircraft.

Many airlines suspended flights to Israel in October last year due to the conflict with Hamas. Wizz Air resumed operations in Israel in March, followed by British Airways in April.

However, easyJet has extended its suspension of flights to Israel until at least late October.

In addition, Virgin Atlantic announced a new codeshare partnership with Israel’s El Al, designed to facilitate easier travel for customers of both airlines.

Virgin, 49% owned by Delta Air Lines (DL), is a member of the SkyTeam Alliance. Recently, El Al has also signed codeshare deals with Delta, Scandinavian Airlines, and Air France.
