Emirates Debuts 777 with New Business Class to Brussels, Geneva and Tokyo

DUBAI- UAE’s flag carrier, Emirates Airlines (EK) has unveiled the first cities to receive its newest Boeing 777 cabin interiors: Geneva (GVA), Tokyo Haneda (HND), and Brussels (BRU).

The airline will introduce refurbished 777s on these routes, offering customers more opportunities to experience its signature Premium Economy and, for the first time, Emirates’ next-generation Business Class seats in a new 1-2-1 configuration.

Emirates Refurbished 777 Routes

Emirates flights on the upgraded Boeing 777 to Geneva, Tokyo Haneda, and Brussels are available for booking today (July 1, 2024).

The first upgraded Emirates Boeing 777 products will operate on the following services:

  • EK 83/84 to and from Geneva starting from August 11*
  • EK 312/313 to and from Tokyo Haneda starting from September 1*
  • EK 183/184 to and from Brussels starting from September 11*

Beginning July 1, the first Emirates Boeing 777 will undergo a comprehensive cabin interior facelift, a process that takes approximately two weeks before the aircraft returns to service.

Emirates New Business Class on 777

The upgrades include refurbishing the First-Class cabin, installing 38 new Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, adding 24 Premium Economy seats, and updating 256 Economy Class seats.

The newly refurbished Boeing 777 Business Class seats focus on personalized privacy and elevated comfort. They convert to flat beds with 20.7-inch-wide seats and are spaced up to 44 inches apart. The staggered seating arrangement ensures aisle access for every seat, with direct entry and exit.

Features include a touch screen seat controller for in-flight entertainment and seat operation, a personal 23-inch HD screen linked to the airline’s award-winning ICE entertainment system, a personal mini-bar, a large table, and ample storage for personal devices and charging outlets.

Additionally, the Boeing 777 Business Class cabin will feature a small bar for customers to grab mid-flight snacks and refreshments.

Largest Retrofit in Industry

Emirates will refurbish a total of 81 Boeing 777s as part of its extensive retrofit program. Over the next few months, the airline will announce additional destinations that will feature its latest products.

This initiative is part of a $3 billion investment to revamp 191 aircraft, marking the largest known retrofit program in the industry, aimed at delivering the best products and customer experience in the air.

Emirates currently operates its refurbished A380 aircraft with Premium Economy to destinations including New York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, London Heathrow, Sydney, Auckland, Christchurch, Melbourne, Singapore, Mumbai, Bangalore, Sao Paulo, Tokyo Narita, Osaka, and Dubai.

By February 2025, Emirates plans to serve over 36 cities with Premium Economy. The airline will introduce the A350 to its fleet in September of this year, along with more refurbished A380s and Boeing 777s, expanding service to additional cities in the coming months.
