Emirates Deploys 777 with New Business Class to Riyadh and Zurich

DUBAI- Flag carrier of UAE, Emirates (EK) announced that it will introduce its newly retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft to Zurich (ZRH) and Riyadh (RUH) starting October 1, 2024.

The airline will also increase the use of refurbished 777s on routes to Geneva (GVA) and Brussels (BRU), making these the first two cities in Emirates’ network to feature the upgraded cabins on all flights.

Emirates 777 New Business Class Routes

The expansion aims to offer more customers access to Emirates’ Premium Economy product and newly configured Business Class cabin.

Zurich will see the retrofitted Boeing 777 on flights EK 85 and EK 86, while Riyadh will welcome the enhanced aircraft on EK 819 and EK 820, marking the debut of Emirates’ Premium Economy in the Middle East/GCC region.

Geneva will become the first city in the Emirates’ network to offer Premium Economy seats and refreshed Business Class cabins on all flights from September 22, 2024, with the introduction of the retrofitted 777 on EK 89 and EK 90. Brussels will follow on October 9, 2024, with six weekly flights (EK 181 and EK 182) operated by the second retrofitted B777.

Emirates plans to serve 28 cities with Premium Economy by the end of 2024. The airline has already retrofitted 25 aircraft and aims to complete upgrades on 17 more by December 2024. This expansion provides customers with more choice and an enhanced experience across all cabin classes on both refurbished Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft.

EK 777 Retrofitted Seat Configuration

The layout features six or eight First Class suites, 38 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 260 Economy Class seats.

The revamped Business Class offers 20.7-inch-wide soft leather seats with 180-degree fully flat beds. Each seat provides aisle access, a personal mini-bar, a wooden table, multiple charging outlets, and new seat controls. The four-abreast arrangement enhances privacy and comfort for travelers.

Premium Economy debuts with 19.5-inch-wide cream leather seats, featuring a 38-inch pitch and 8-inch recline. The cabin includes 6-way adjustable headrests, calf and footrests, in-seat charging points, and wooden dining and cocktail tables.

Emirates elevates the dining experience across cabins. Business Class passengers enjoy full table service with Royal Doulton fine bone china and exclusive cutlery.

Premium Economy offers a welcome drink, fine beverages, and gourmet dishes served on premium tableware.
