Emirates New Airbus A350 Made its First Test Flight | Exclusive

TOULOUSE- Flag carrier of UAE, Emirates Airlines (EK) first Airbus A350 operated its maiden test flight today at Toulouse International Airport (TLS), the home of Airbus.

The aircraft registered as F-WZGA is a temporary registration for the first A350-900 bound for Emirates. The actual registration is yet to be revealed.

Emirates A350 Test Flight

According to Flight Radar 24 data, the Emirates A350 took off from Toulouse for the first time at 9:27 AM UTC. The aircraft landed safely after being airborne for almost four hours at 1:22 PM UTC.

The aircraft was scheduled to enter into service (EIS) this month (September 2024), however, there is a high possibility that delivery delays are attributed to interior and other spares, the aircraft will operate its first commercial flight on November 4, 2024.

Now, Emirates will take delivery of A350 next month (actually in a few days). Apart from this, the airline is set to receive five more A350-900s by the end of 2024.

Emirates A350s will have 312 seats. The Economy class will accommodate 259 passengers, the premium economy will offer 21 seats, and business class will provide 32 seats

The ultra-long-haul twin-engine aircraft will initially operate medium-haul routes from Dubai (DXB) to destinations such as Edinburgh (EDI), Bahrain (BAH), Kuwait (KWI), Mumbai (BOM), Colombo (CMB), and Lyon (LYN).

Emirates has 65 A350-900 aircraft on order worth $24 Billion.

First A350 Timeline

According to aviation.flights site, which tracks the new aircraft revealed that EK’s first A350 was spotted in primer, the layer before the paint on March 27, 2024.

Further, on May 07, 2024, the aircraft is spotted in its full livery without engines. Recently, on Aug 24, 2024, the aircraft was fitted with two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-84 engines.

On September 12, 2024, the aircraft made its first engine run test and also the taxi check.

Subsequently, on September 24, 2024 (Yesterday), the aircraft made a taxi test a third time and also performed the rejected take-off (RTO) test.
