The Dubai-based carrier has invested AED 20 million (USD$5.4 million) in building a 900-square-meter lounge, which is situated in Terminal 1. Further, the lounge will provide access to Business and First Class passengers along with Skywards Platinum and Gold members.

The lounge will be able to accommodate 190 passengers at one point in time and have different seating spaces.

This investment shows the airline’s commitment to expanding its presence in Saudi Arabia, supporting the aviation goals of Saudi Vision 2030, and ensuring a welcoming Emirates experience for customers on the ground.

Emirates is also celebrating 35 years of service to Jeddah, marking a significant milestone in its operations in Saudi Arabia, one of its most important global markets.

Mohammed Mattar, Divisional Senior Vice President of Airport Services at Emirates while attending the opening event stated:

Jeddah was our first gateway into the Kingdom 35 years ago, so it’s fitting that the King Abdulaziz International Airport, a world-class facility is the first airport in the region outside of Dubai to feature an Emirates dedicated lounge. The lounge, comfortably situated at the centre of Terminal 1, is beautifully designed to deliver an industry-leading experience and Emirates’ signature hospitality for our customers from the moment they step inside. We thank the airport authorities for their support in helping us open our doors to officially welcome customers and provide them with a memorable travel experience on the ground.”
