The additional freighters will boost main deck cargo capacity by 30%, allowing Emirates to meet growing demand in key markets. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates, cites Dubai’s Economic Agenda as a driving force behind the expansion. The city aims to double foreign trade and strengthen its position as a global trading hub.

Emirates plans to assess its future freighter fleet, considering all aircraft options to respond to market demands effectively. Stephanie Pope, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, expresses pride in Emirates SkyCargo’s continued trust in Boeing’s widebody family.

The airline will retire older freighters as new aircraft arrive, maintaining a young and efficient fleet. By the end of 2025, Emirates’ freighter fleet will include 17 aircraft, comprising the new Boeing 777Fs and converted 777-300ERs.

The cargo division will also utilize the passenger fleet, offering customers flexibility with a mix of 777s, 777-Fs, 747Fs, A350s, and A380s.

The decision to invest in Boeing 777 freighters highlights the aircraft’s reliability and efficiency in cargo operations. These planes offer long-range capabilities and significant payload capacity, enabling Emirates to serve diverse global markets effectively.

The choice of aircraft also reflects the ongoing partnership between Emirates and Boeing, reinforcing the manufacturer’s position in the cargo aviation sector.
