The airline plans to expand its network with A321neo range where it earlier couldn’t fly. Further they will deploy A321neo on high demand routes such as to Europe and Asia, especially India.

Further, the aircraft are equipped with CFM, joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran, LEAP 1A engines. This helps provide up to 20% more efficiency and reduced emissions compared to similar power units in its class.

John Wright, Etihad’s Chief Operations and Guest Officer, stated, “We are pleased to have integrated this fleet so quickly after committing to the aircraft last December. With global constraints on aircraft deliveries, this fleet is crucial for our growth plans as we anticipate over 20 new aircraft arrivals in 2025.”

“Typically, it takes up to two years to bring a new airframe and engine type into operation. The fact that our Etihad teams and partners achieved this safely and compliantly within seven months is a testament to their speed and flexibility,” added Mr. Wright.

Overall, these aircraft will serve various routes, including destinations in India and the Middle East, allowing guests to experience the new livery. Currently, Etihad flies to 70 destinations across Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
