9:45 AM- Korean Air is upgrading its aircraft maintenance capabilities by implementing Boeing’s Airplane Health Management (AHM) system across more of its fleet. The airline extends AHM coverage to its 777, 747-8, and 737MAX aircraft, building on its existing use of the system in its 787 fleet.

Airbus spearheads a groundbreaking initiative to boost Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production. The aircraft manufacturer joins forces with six other industry leaders to create the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Financing Alliance (SAFFA) investment fund.

The partnership includes Air France-KLM Group, Associated Energy Group, BNP Paribas, Burnham Sterling, Mitsubishi HC Capital, and Qantas Airways. These companies collectively commit approximately $200 million to the fund, with Airbus acting as the anchor investor.

Phew, A very Busy day 1 at FIA2024, Boeing dominated the day with Korean Air, Luxair, and Japan Airlines orders, while Airbus made a comeback with Cebu Pacific and Drukair deals. Apart from this major update came from Qatar Airways, which unveiled the Qsuite Business Class.

While Embraer received the order. On the other hand, Air India showcased the A350 for the first time, Announced its deployment on US routes and the A321XLR made a flying display after getting its TC from EASA. 3:47 PM- Netherlands and Austria sign for 9 C-390 military transport planes (5 Netherlands, 4 Austria) from Brazilian Embraer. This purchase is part of the “Replacement of Tactical Airlift Capacity” project. The Dutch Ministry of Defense has finalized a deal to acquire nine Embraer C-390 Millennium aircraft.

Drukair adds Airbus A320neo and A321XLR aircraft to fleet to expand international network

3:09 PM- Drukair – Royal Bhutan Airlines (KB) has signed a major agreement with Airbus to grow its international operations. The national airline of Bhutan inked a Memorandum of Understanding for five new aircraft. The deal includes three A320neo and two A321XLR planes.

2:30 PM- Cebu Pacific (5J) confirms a massive deal with Airbus and Pratt & Whitney. The Filipino airline agreed to buy up to 152 A321neo planes. This purchase marks the biggest aircraft order in Philippine history.

The deal could cost $24 billion, based on list prices. Cebu Pacific signed a memorandum of understanding for 102 firm orders and 50 purchase rights. The airline chose Pratt & Whitney GTF engines to power these new planes.

Lufthansa Technik, Boeing Sign License Agreement for 787 Dreamliner Cabin Modifications

2:10 PM- Boeing and Lufthansa Technik form a new partnership for 787 Dreamliner cabin modifications. Lufthansa Technik becomes the first Boeing-licensed Service Center (BLSC) for this aircraft type. This agreement expands options for airlines seeking 787 interior upgrades.

The BLSC designation allows Lufthansa Technik to perform interior modifications on 787s as an external maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider.

1:11 PM- Japan Airlines (JL) orders 10 Boeing 787-9 and 10 are on Options. Boeing secures a significant deal with Japan Airlines (JAL) for up to 20 additional 787 Dreamliners. The agreement includes 10 firm orders for 787-9s and options for 10 more. This expansion builds on JAL’s existing fleet of over 50 787s.

12:14 PM- Air India (AI) announces major upgrades to its New York routes using its new flagship A350 aircraft. The airline plans to introduce the A350 on Delhi-New York JFK flights starting November 1, 2024. This marks the ultra-long-haul debut of Air India’s A350 fleet.

The carrier will extend A350 service to Delhi-Newark flights from January 2, 2025. This expansion enhances Air India’s presence in the competitive U.S.-India market. Will share more details in the article. Stay Tuned.

Luxair Selects Largest Boeing 737 MAX Model, Buying up to 4 737-10 Jets

12:11 PM- Boeing secures a new order from Luxair (LG) for its 737 MAX family. The European regional carrier commits to two 737-10 airplanes, with options for two more. This deal comes just a year after Luxair’s previous order for 737-7 and 737-8 models.

11:45 AM- Qatar Airways unveils its new Qsuite Next Gen Business Class at FIA 2024. Qatar Airways CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer announced Qsuites and emphasized the company’s long-standing commitment to the passenger experience. Al-Meer states that customer experience and satisfaction form a crucial pillar of Qatar Airways’ mission and vision.

10:58 AM- FlyDubai (FZ) announces a significant disruption to its fleet expansion plans. The Dubai-based low-cost carrier reveals to Bloomberg it will not receive any new Boeing aircraft in 2024. This unexpected change forces FlyDubai to reassess its growth strategy.

The airline now faces the challenge of revising its route development plans. FlyDubai must evaluate potential changes to flight frequencies across its network due to the lack of new aircraft arrivals.

Comac showcases new aircraft variants at the Farnborough Air Show. The Chinese airframer displays models of stretched and high-altitude versions of its C919 narrowbody jet.
