Fake Air India Pilot Fraud

Shashikant wore a pilot’s uniform and deceived her parents about her employment with Air India. She issued fake payment invoices using the airline’s email address to appear legitimate.

The RCF police station arrested Shashikant on charges of cheating and forgery. The victim’s son had completed his 12th-grade science education when they met Shashikant, believing she was a pilot.

Shashikant claimed the total cost for pilot training would be Rs 50-52 lakh, with a possible discount. The complainant transferred Rs 26.81 lakh to various accounts provided by her. She sent invoices via email to build trust.

When the admission process showed no progress, the complainant grew suspicious and investigated. He discovered Shashikant was not a pilot and had been deceiving her parents as well.

As the police summoned her, Shashikant evaded them by moving to Ambarnath and frequently changing her mobile number. The police eventually arrested her at her Ambarnath residence.

Mumbai Police Investigates the Crime

Senior Inspector Kedari Pawar stated that Shashikant is in police custody. The investigation aims to determine how she spent the complainant’s money and her motives for deceiving her father’s colleague.

The police have charged Shashikant with cheating and forgery. They continue investigating the case to uncover any additional details or potential accomplices in this elaborate scheme.

This incident highlights the importance of verifying credentials and being cautious when making significant financial decisions, especially in matters related to education and career opportunities.

It also serves as a reminder of the lengths some individuals will go to maintain false identities and exploit others for financial gain.
