IndiGo Unveils New Business Class, Loyalty Program BluChip and More

GURUGRAM- India’s largest domestic carrier, IndiGo Airlines (6E) today unveiled the business-class stretch, its most-awaited loyalty program BluChip, and much more.

The largest Airbus A320 family customer IndiGo is celebrating its 18th anniversary and held a special event today at its headquarters in Gurugram.

IndiGo Business Class

IndiGo Stretch, its new business class will be available on 12 metro routes from Delhi (DEL).

CEO Pieter Elbers announced the new offering at a Delhi event, emphasizing its tailored approach for busy business routes. IndiGo Stretch will feature 12 business class seats per aircraft and offer curated meals.

The inaugural business class flight will operate between Delhi and Mumbai (BOM) in mid-November. Ticket bookings open tomorrow, with fares starting at ₹18,018.

The world’s third-largest carrier in terms of valuation, IndiGo, plans to expand its international presence significantly. Elbers stated the airline will add seven new international destinations by the end of FY2024-25, bringing the total to 40.

IndiGo Loyalty Program: ‘BluChip’

BluChip, a new loyalty program allows passengers to earn points based on flight routes and durations.

IndiGo promotes BluChip as the “fastest way to earn on IndiGo” with “hassle-free redemption” and “no blackout and no fancy rules.” Pre-registration for the program begins immediately.

BluChip members can list up to five nominees on their accounts, expanding the program’s benefits to family members or associates.

CEO Piter Elbers announced a simple tier structure at the airline’s anniversary event. Members can earn benefits on ancillary services like prime passes, baggage allowances, and seat selection.

Furthermore, IndiGo is offering 50 participants to accumulate 1,800 IndiGo BluChips daily if they pre-register for the program. Subsequently, the one participant stands a chance to get 18,000 IndiGo BluChips

Frequent flyers will enjoy non-expiring points, encouraging long-term loyalty to the airline.
