JetBlue 8 New Routes

The airline leads in Boston and New England with the most mainline service from Boston, offering 30 percent more mainline seats than its closest competitor. JetBlue provides the most nonstop destinations from Boston and dominates routes to California, Florida, and the Caribbean.

JetBlue expands its New England presence, adding Manchester as its tenth regional airport. Service from Manchester begins in January with daily flights to Orlando and seasonal routes to Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers. This expansion complements JetBlue’s Boston Logan operations, offering more choices to loyal customers.

At Boston Logan, JetBlue increases flights to popular vacation destinations including Caribbean islands, Florida cities, and international locations. The airline introduces a second daily Boston-Phoenix flight, featuring premium Mint service on all flights between these cities.

Providence sees significant growth, with JetBlue seats nearly tripling this winter. Hartford experiences a 30 percent seat increase over the same period. Combined with Manchester’s new service, JetBlue adds an average of 18 new daily departures from New England this winter, including six new routes to Florida.

JetBlue’s growth in secondary airports like Manchester and Providence shows a strategy to capture market share beyond major hubs. This approach could appeal to travelers seeking convenient alternatives to larger airports.

The introduction of Mint service on the Boston-Phoenix route indicates JetBlue’s push into the premium travel market, potentially attracting business travelers and competing with legacy carriers.

New Routes from New York and More Flights to Florida

The airline introduces nonstop seasonal service from Buffalo to Palm Beach, the only such route available. Buffalo and Albany gain second daily flights to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, while Syracuse adds a second daily Orlando flight.

Long Island MacArthur Airport joins JetBlue’s network in October. The airline will offer daily flights to Orlando and four weekly flights to Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, catering to Long Island-based customers.

JetBlue strengthens its Florida presence, planning to average over 225 daily flights from the state by February. This represents an 8% increase in peak daily departures compared to last year, reinforcing JetBlue’s position as a leading Florida carrier.

This growth aligns with JetBlue’s strategy to focus on leisure and VFR (visiting friends and relatives) travel. The airline aims to provide more options for customers flying to Florida’s popular destinations.

New Planes

JetBlue replaces over half its Embraer E190 fleet with Airbus A220 aircraft, upgrading customer comfort and efficiency. The A220 features quieter, more fuel-efficient engines than the E190.

The new A220s offer a 2×3 seating layout with the widest coach seats in single-aisle aircraft. They boast larger overhead bins, bigger windows, and customizable mood lighting. Each seat provides USB-C, USB-A, and AC power outlets.

JetBlue has received more than 30 A220s, replacing over 60% of its E190s. Boston Logan Airport will see significant benefits from this transition, as E190s frequently operate from there.

Marty St. George, JetBlue’s president, highlights the A220’s customer-centered design. He emphasizes the extra space and modern amenities, reflecting JetBlue’s commitment to superior onboard products.
