LOS ANGELES- A dramatic scene unfolded at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) early Saturday morning when a shirtless man fled from police across the tarmac.

Around 6 a.m. local time in Terminal 4, a man experienced a “mental health crisis” and became agitated, leading him to bolt onto the airfield. This breach prompted an immediate response from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
Video footage shows the shirtless suspect sprinting across the tarmac with an LAPD officer in close pursuit.
Karla Rodriguez, Public Information Officer for Los Angeles Airport Police, stated, “During their attempt to take the suspect into custody, a use of force occurred,” indicating that physical intervention was necessary.
Authorities arrested the man on charges of battery against a police officer and transported him to a nearby hospital for a psychological evaluation.
