Due to the incident, which took place at night, the aircraft underwent thorough inspections, but the lack of spare parts led to the cancellation of the return flight to Munich.

“Although LH 762 landed safely in Delhi, a temporary technical deregistration was necessary due to the unavailability of spare parts after the controlled landing. Safety remains our top priority at Lufthansa,” stated an airline spokesperson on Tuesday.

Sources disclosed to news agency that the return flight LH763 was canceled despite boarding passes being issued to passengers.

The aircraft involved in the incident is Lufthansa Airlines Airbus A380-841 registered as D-AIMC. Further it is a 14.4-year-old and is powered by Rolls Royce Trent 900 engines.

The Lufthansa spokesperson confirmed that aircraft registered as D-AIMC is scheduled to operate flight LH763 from Delhi to Munich on July 3.
