MUNICH- Winter brings Christmas, and for those dreaming of meeting Santa Claus in his “official” hometown, Lufthansa (LH) offers a non-stop opportunity from Frankfurt (FRA).
Starting November 30, 2024, Lufthansa will operate flights twice a week from Frankfurt to Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland in northern Finland. Positioned on the Arctic Circle, Rovaniemi boasts pristine natural surroundings, serving as an excellent base for exploring awe-inspiring natural wonders like the Northern Lights and stunning cross-country ski resorts.
Lufthansa New Winter Destinations
With Rovaniemi’s addition, Lufthansa further enriches its presence in Finland, expanding its footprint alongside Helsinki, Oulu, Kittilä, Ivalou, and Kuusamo, marking its sixth destination in Finland.
In addition to Rovaniemi, Lufthansa will continue its flights from Frankfurt to Chișinău, the capital of the Republic of Moldova, initiated in summer 2024.
Furthermore, Nantes in France introduced as a summer destination, is now available from Munich even during the winter season.
Here are the specifics for the Frankfurt-Rovaniemi (RVN) route:
Starting November 30, 2024, Operating on Tuesdays and Saturdays
- Flight LH852 departs from Frankfurt at 08:50 and arrives in Rovaniemi at 12:50
- Flight LH853 departs from Rovaniemi at 13:50 and arrives in Frankfurt at 15:50
