MUNICH- German flag carrier, Lufthansa (LH) inaugurates daily flight LH488 between Munich (MUC) and Seattle (SEA) today (May 31, 2024). Star Alliance’s founding member has deployed its Airbus A350 aircraft to serve this 10 hour and 25 minute flight.
Lufthansa announced in September 2023 that would add three new destinations in the USA in Summer 2024 which include, Minneapolis (MSP), Raleigh-Durham (RDU), and Seattle.
Lufthansa Inaugurates Munich to Seattle Flight
The Munich flight complements Lufthansa’s existing daily flights to Seattle from its Frankfurt (FRA) hub, providing additional travel options to Washington state. Essentially, Lufthansa is doubling its flight frequencies to Seattle.
Starting today, the Airbus A350, one of the most sustainable long-haul aircraft in Lufthansa’s fleet, to operate daily flights to Seattle from Munich for the first time.
At the time of publication, the flight is airborne and you can track it here: D-AIXP – Airbus A350-941 – Lufthansa – Flightradar24.
Lufthansa has deployed a 4.3-year-old A350-900 aircraft, registered as D-AIXP. Earlier, the aircraft used to serve its Asian destinations i.e., Bangkok (BKK), Seoul (ICN), Singapore (SIN), and Beijing (PEK).
Later, the 70-year-old carrier will reduce the frequency to three times a week in Winter as demand will shrink.
Lufthansa will codeshare this flight with United Airlines (UA) to help its passengers reach all the UA’s domestic destinations hassle-free.
Flight details are as follows:
Route | Flight # | Departure | Arrival |
MUC to SEA | LH488 | 3:30 p.m. | 4:55 p.m. (same day) |
