Ryanair Trolls UK PM Rishi Sunak, says ‘Don’t Worry, We Got Seat for You’

Dublin-based Ryanair (FR) humorously incorporated Prime Minister Rishi Sunak into their advertisement as exit polls predicted a Labour Party sweep in the UK parliamentary elections, led by Keir Starmer. This result would end the Tory regime after 14 years.

Moments after voting closed, polls indicated a Labour victory, with Keir Starmer poised to replace Rishi Sunak as Britain’s prime minister, according to AFP.

Ryanair Trolls UK PM

Although Sunak might lose his seat in Parliament, Ryanair reserved a seat for him. A viral X post from the airline’s handle showed a smiling Sunak sitting on a flight.

The airline’s playful gesture insinuated the uncertainty surrounding the electoral outcome in Sunak’s Richmond and Northallerton constituency.

The post went viral, amassing over 3.4 million views, with numerous users joking about it in the comments. One user expressed gratitude for living long enough to see Ryanair troll Rishi Sunak, while another joked about him not even getting a window seat.

“First genuinely funny ad I’ve seen in ages,” wrote another person. Ryanair’s post aligns with its bio, “Catch flights, not feelings,” suggesting that Sunak should fly in case he experiences a metaphorical free fall.

Rishi Sunak’s bio on X now reads, “Candidate for Richmond and Northallerton (I am no longer an MP),” reflecting the Labour Party’s impending sweep in the UK general election. “We did it! Change begins now,” Keir Starmer stated, according to The Guardian.

Sunak’s Conservative Party is predicted to secure only 131 out of 650 seats in parliament.

Sunak, who entered British politics through his childhood friend James Forsyth, former political editor of the Spectator, now faces 14 years of anti-incumbency and challenging questions about the cost-of-living crisis, as reported by Politico and Hindustan Times.
