SAS Seattle Flights

Anko van der Werff, President & CEO of SAS, emphasizes the route’s importance in enhancing travel options and reinforcing ties between Scandinavia and the economically significant Pacific Northwest.

Seattle, one of the wealthiest U.S. cities, boasts strong Scandinavian connections dating back to the early 1900s, shaped by Nordic immigrants who influenced the city’s culture and economy.

The new route responds to high customer demand and aligns with SAS’s strategy to expand its global reach.

Van der Werff highlights the strategic value of Seattle’s growing cargo operations, further justifying the expansion. This development marks a significant step in SAS’s efforts to meet evolving travel needs and strengthen its competitive position in the transatlantic market.

Flights Starting in 2025

SAS is to begin Copenhagen-Seattle operations on May 21, 2025, strategically scheduling flights to optimize connectivity across its network. This new route enables seamless one-stop access between 39 European cities and Seattle via Copenhagen.

Passengers from major European hubs including Berlin, Helsinki, Milan, and Zurich will benefit from this enhanced connectivity.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac) demonstrated significant passenger traffic in 2023, handling 50.9 million travelers. Industry projections indicate continued growth for Sea-Tac’s passenger numbers, underlining the airport’s importance as a key transportation hub.

The Copenhagen-Seattle route represents just one of several new routes SAS plans to unveil in the near future. This expansion signifies SAS’s commitment to broadening its international reach and responding to evolving travel demands.

The airline’s strategic network growth aims to strengthen its competitive position in the global aviation market and provide more diverse travel options for its customers.
