ISTANBUL- Flag carrier of Turkiye, Turkish Airlines (TK) flight TK24 from Istanbul (IST) to Taipei (TPE) experienced severe turbulence mid-air. Following this, 6 people onboard were injured.

Turkish Airlines Severe Turbulence
According to FlightRadar24 data, the Turkish Airlines flight TK24 took off from Istanbul at 11:19 AM UTC. After being airborne for around nine hours, the flight experienced turbulence. It could have been near Hong Kong, on the eastern coast of China.
The flight landed safely in Taipei at around 10:00 AM UTC. The aircraft involved in the incident is a 14-year-old Boeing 777-300ER registered as TC-JJE.
Press Counsel and Senior Vice President of Media Relations at Turkish Airlines shared this update on X. He reported that,
‘Turkish Airlines flight TK24 from Istanbul to Taipei encounters severe turbulence two hours before landing. The incident affects flight TC-JJE, carrying 214 passengers and 17 crew members.
Four passengers and two cabin crew members were minorly injured in the turbulence. The aircraft landed safely at Taipei Airport without further complications.
Medical teams met the plane upon arrival and provided immediate assistance. Initial assessments revealed no serious injuries. Two passengers requested hospital transfer for further evaluation.
Turkish Airlines emphasizes its commitment to flight and passenger safety. The airline expresses deep concern over the incident and closely monitors the health status of affected individuals.’
