United Airlines Launching New Flights from San Francisco to Montreal

SAN FRANCISCO- United Airlines (UA) has exciting news for travelers as it is launching new flights from San Francisco (SFO) to Montreal (YUL). The airline will launch a new seasonal route starting July 1, offering daily flights between these vibrant cities. With the use of a Boeing 737 MAX 8, passengers can look forward to a convenient and comfortable journey on this new route.

As per Google Flights, Air Canada (AC) is the sole carrier that serves the SFO-YUL route. The Canadian flag carrier is a Star Alliance member and operates codeshare flights with United. Air Canada deploys Airbus A220 on a 5-hour and 40-minute flight.

United San Francisco to Montreal

United Airlines is committed to providing top-notch service to its passengers, and this new route is just one example of how the airline constantly strives to enhance the travel experience for its customers.

Here are the flight details for the new route:

  • UA2857: Departing from SFO at 11:00 PM and arriving in YUL at 7:25 AM the next day.
  • UA2858: Departing from YUL at 8:30 AM and arriving in SFO at 11:46 AM.  

Since the collaboration between United and Air Canada broadened in 2022, United’s presence in the Canadian market has surged by more than 70%. Subsequently, this growth is propelled by their mutual objective of enhancing connectivity between the two nations.

Presently, United patrons have expedited access to an additional 25 Canadian cities via Air Canada. Furthermore, they can reap the rewards offered by both carriers’ loyalty programs, MileagePlus® and Aeroplan.

Strengthening Presence in Canada

In January 2024, United Airlines announced that it would further strengthen its position as the largest U.S. carrier to Canada. With the most flights to the most destinations, United Airlines will serve nine Canadian cities with over 150 daily flights between the U.S. and Canada.

  • The resumption of flights between Halifax-Newark/New York
  • Vancouver-Washington, D.C
  • Winnipeg-Denver
  • Service from Chicago to Winnipeg and Quebec City
  • Flying larger planes to Edmonton and Montreal from hubs in Denver and New York/Newark
  • Additional daily flights to Calgary and Honolulu from San Francisco
