United Airlines Removes 2nd Newark-Delhi Flight from Schedule | Exclusive

CHICAGO- United Airlines (UA) removes second daily flight between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi (DEL), India for Winter 2024. This change reduces capacity on the popular international route.

The flight reduction will affect travelers planning US-India trips during winter. United Airlines will contact passengers with existing bookings to arrange alternatives.

United Cancels Newark to Delhi Flight

Last year in July, Chicago-based carrier announced that it will operate the second daily flight from Newark to Delhi from October 28, 2023. It did operate the flights but for this year, the airline has changed its strategy, reported The Indian Aviation Guy with the help of scarceyyshawn on X.

United serves this route with Boeing 787-9 aircraft which features 48 Polaris business class seats, 21 Premium Plus seats, and 188 Economy seats, including 39 in Economy Plus.

Well according to Aviation A2Z sources, the United Airlines is planning to add second daily flight to Dubai (DXB) this winter. But the airline plans to deploy Boeing 777 to serve the destination. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Also, due to Closure of airspace closure and restrictions amid Russia-Ukraine war, United has paused its flights between Chicago (ORD) and Mumbai (BOM). Further, it cannot launch new flights to India.

Demand forecasts, operational needs, or strategic planning may have driven this decision. United Airlines hasn’t released an official statement explaining the change.

Travelers should check their reservations and monitor airline updates for their Winter 2024 Newark-Delhi plans. For more information, contact United Airlines directly or visit their official website.
