United New York-Faro Flights

First thing first, according to Aeroroutes, the Chicago-based carrier will operate flights between Newark and Faro from May 23, 2025. The bookings for these flights now available to be made on its website and through travel agents.

Earlier this year, the United cancelled the highly demanded leisure EWR-FAO route. The decision come as United was under scrutiny by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) amid series of incidents.

Following the curb by FAA on new routes and flight expansion, the United cancelled the scheduled May flights. They told passengers,

We wanted to let you know that we have postponed the start date of our seasonal service to Faro until the summer of 2025, which means your flight will not depart as planned. We understand how frustrating this can be and we want you to know we have arranged different options operated by United and our partners, Lufthansa and TAP Portugal.”
