VietJet Air, Honeywell Signs $1.1 Billion Deal at New York

NEW YORK- VietJet Air (VJ) and Honeywell Aerospace Technologies have signed a $1.1 billion cooperation agreement for avionics and aviation technical services.

VietJet Honeywell Signs $1.1 Billion Deal

Vietjet CEO Dinh Viet Phuong and Honeywell representative Joseph Vitulli finalized the deal, marking a crucial step in Vietjet’s fleet modernization efforts.

The agreement covers Honeywell’s avionics and APU maintenance programs for Vietjet’s new Airbus A330neo wide-body and narrow-body aircraft.

Honeywell’s Flight Efficiency solution will be implemented across Vietjet’s entire fleet to monitor and reduce emissions while improving fuel efficiency. This technology aligns with Vietjet’s commitment to sustainable growth and green transformation.

CEO Dinh Viet Phuong emphasized the agreement’s significance as a milestone in Vietjet’s partnership with Honeywell.

He highlighted Vietjet’s focus on emission reduction and intercontinental network expansion, stating that Honeywell’s advanced technology will enhance passenger service with convenient, high-quality, safe, and eco-friendly flights.

Joseph Vitulli, representing Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, expressed enthusiasm for the expanded partnership with Vietjet. The collaboration, spanning nearly a decade, aims to support Vietjet’s long-term objectives and improve passenger experiences.

Better Technical Reliability

Honeywell has developed and implemented solutions to reduce carbon footprints for airlines. These solutions optimize fuel consumption by analyzing aircraft performance and sharing operational best practices.

Vietjet’s commitment to safety and efficiency has earned it recognition from AirlineRatings. The airline maintains a 7/7-star safety rating and has been consistently ranked among the world’s safest low-cost carriers since 2018.

The Vietnamese carrier continues to expand its fleet with new, fuel-efficient aircraft. Vietjet has achieved a technical reliability rate of 99.6%, placing it among the top airlines globally.

VietJet operates all Airbus aircraft in its fleet and has 85 in total. This includes 17 Airbus A320-200, 36 A321-200, 25 A321neo and seven A330-300.

Half of the A321neo are grounded due to engine-related issues.
