CALIFORNIA- Alaska Airlines (AS) launches five new nonstop routes today, expanding its network and strengthening its presence in California and the Pacific Northwest.
The new services connect Las Vegas (LAS) with San Diego (SAN) and Santa Rosa/Sonoma County (STS), while Los Angeles (LAX) gains links to Pasco (PSC), Washington (IAD), and Reno (RNO). The airline also resumes nonstop service between Portland (PDX) and Atlanta (ATL).
Alaska Airlines 5 New Routes
Kirsten Amrine, Vice President of Revenue Management and Network Planning, cites strong travel demand as the driving force behind these additions. She emphasizes the expanded options for both business travelers and leisure seekers planning autumn getaways.
With these new routes, Alaska Airlines now offers the highest number of daily flights to West Coast destinations from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The Los Angeles-Reno route, a popular choice among passengers, will operate twice daily.
The new Pasco-Los Angeles service, operating once daily, provides an additional nonstop option for travelers from the Tri-Cities area. Both the Pasco and Reno routes utilize Embraer 175 jets, featuring only window and aisle seating to enhance passenger comfort.
These route expansions reflect Alaska Airlines’ strategy to capitalize on growing travel demand and strengthen its competitive position in key markets. The airline aims to improve connectivity for West Coast communities and provide more seamless travel options within its broader network.

The Santa Rosa route offers Bay Area travelers easy access to Mexico while providing Las Vegas residents a direct link to wine country.
Passengers can utilize Alaska’s Wine Flies Free program, allowing Mileage Plan members to check a case of up to 12 wine bottles at no cost. Both routes operate daily using Embraer 175 aircraft.
Alaska Airlines resumes its Portland-Atlanta cross-country route, operating daily with a Boeing 737-900.
Passengers departing Portland can experience the airport’s new terminal and Alaska’s upgraded lobby area, featuring technology that expedites security processing to five minutes or less.

The carrier emphasizes its premium travel experience across its expanded network. Alaska Airlines offers the most legroom in First Class and Premium Class among U.S. airlines, excluding lie-flat seats. The airline maintains a no-change-fee policy and provides multiple fare options.
