Mumbai Airport to Remain Close for Six Hours in October 17

MUMBAI- Chhattrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) managed by Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) announced a six-hour closure of flight operations at Mumbai Airport (BOM) on October 17, 2024.

The shutdown, scheduled from 11 am to 5 pm, will facilitate post-monsoon maintenance work on two cross runways.

Mumbai Airport Remain Close

MIAL issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) six months in advance, detailing the temporary closure of runways RWY 09/27 and RWY 14/32 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). This planned maintenance forms part of the airport’s annual post-monsoon preventive measures.

The airport authority coordinated flight schedules with key stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and smooth execution of the maintenance work. This proactive approach aims to minimize disruptions to air traffic and passenger inconvenience.

MIAL emphasized that the primary objective of this closure is to conduct essential repair and maintenance activities. These efforts will maintain the airport’s infrastructure at global standards, prioritizing operational continuity and passenger safety.
